Find the outlier
Turn on the lamps you normally use together and look at a plain wall or familiar pale object. If one area appears noticeably cooler, warmer or greener, switch that lamp off to see whether it explains the mismatch. Work through one source at a time instead of changing several variables together.
The bulb may not be the only cause. A coloured shade, ageing fabric or tinted glass can alter the apparent light. Compare the complete lamps first, then inspect the bulb specifications with the equipment switched off, unplugged where applicable and cool. Do not swap bulbs between unsuitable fittings merely to make a quick comparison.
Record the fitting, light output, colour-temperature number and dimming requirements. Two boxes labelled warm white can still have different specifications, and matching colour alone does not match brightness. If the lamps are different types, use their own requirements to select compatible replacements.
Choose what needs to match
Adjacent lamps that form one seating group often look more settled when their light colours are close. A separate directed task light may have a different job. You do not have to replace every bulb in the home just because the living-room pair look inconsistent.
Try one suitable replacement before buying a large pack. Look at it after dark inside the actual shade, alongside the lamps that will remain. Keep a note of the model if it gives the result you wanted; remembering only the packaging colour makes the next replacement unnecessarily uncertain.
Do not keep an unsuitable bulb simply to preserve a visual match. The lamp's limits, fitting and control compatibility come first. If one lamp needs a different kind of source, compare the resulting light in the room rather than forcing identical products into different equipment.
Once the group looks coherent, stop. Small variations from shade materials and direction are part of the arrangement. The aim is to remove an accidental distraction, not to make every corner of the house look like the same illuminated box.
